ATMC Scholarships

Shallotte, NC - ATMC will be offering $1000 scholarships this year to three deserving Brunswick County seniors. One scholarship will be awarded to a student from each of the three Brunswick County high school districts: north, south and west. Seniors in public schools, private schools and home- schooled students are encouraged to apply based on the district in which they reside.

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academics, involvement at the school level, community involvement, financial need and interviewing skills. Students must complete the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA), which will be used as a tool for determining financial need. Application packages have been distributed to the guidance departments at West, North and South Brunswick High Schools.

All high school seniors in Brunswick County are eligible for the scholarship, with the exception of dependents of ATMC employees. Since financial need is a major component of the scholarship, the FAFSA form must be completed (and attached to the application) to ensure eligibility.

Allen Russ, CEO/General Manager of ATMC, said that the scholarship program has helped numerous students to further their education. He added, "In these difficult economic times, it is even more challenging for families to fund the cost of a college education. We know that every dollar counts and we hope that these scholarships make a difference for our local students."

ATMC has provided $23,000 in scholarships to local students since 2002.
